Shutters

The last few weeks we have mostly been cutting trees down or ripping out old interiors so today it was great to actually put something back that has been renovated. A small step but a good feeling. A few weeks ago we sent four of the shutters away to be stripped of the old
lead paint that had dried hard over the years in the sun. Last Tuesday we got them back and so for the last five or six days we have been repainting them and refurbishing the fittings and hinges. They are solid oak and heavy as hell and I suspect about 280 years old. Today we finished the first pair and hung them back on the wall and I think they look amazing! Also we painted the bars on the small window as you go up the 15th century tower and these look really great too.
