Yes there is a lake in here

Last week we cleared the old gate of all the old trees, ivy and undergrowth that had built up over the years. What you can not see in the first picture of the cleared gate and the track that leads to it is the small lake that we have! For the last two days we have braved the shit weather

and cleared away more dead trees, brambles, weeds and the overgrown bank of the lake. Years of neglect have let it fall into this

sad state. The plan is to eventually clear the whole area around the lake and the grass lane that runs about 300 meres from the chateau to the old gate. This lane will be planted with an avenue of trees next spring and then it will be one of the entrances to the chateau. Think we did a good job, just need some nice grass to grow on the bank now!
