Cast iron windows

Before, nice & rusty
The third floor of the chateau has some original 18th century cast iron windows and we have already repainted the frames. Two weeks ago we sent the actual windows off to be sand blasted and re coated. Today they were ready to collect and they look truly incredible, just like new!

When you see what they
Now!!

looked like before we took them out it is hard to believe the transformation. All I have to do now is reglaze them, I can not find anyone who will do this locally so I have bought the glass and will have to do it myself. No problem with the lower pane as that is a rectangle but the top pane has a curved top - time to learn how to cut glass.... how difficult can it be?!  Watch this space.....
