Refurb of main doors and top windows

Main entrance

Having removed the main entrance doors we will today take them to the sand blasters to be cleaned. Once this is done we will then wax and oil them before refitting with new locks. Hopefully they will come up as nice as the oak door for the front tower. The metal decorative panels that you can see in the windows above the entrance are also in the main doors. These are again being cleaned and will be repainted in black before refitting.

Window locking mechanism

The entrance should look really good by the time we leave for the winter. I have also stripped out the closing mechanisms on the cast iron windows from the top floor of the chateau. These are away being sand blasted and powder coated, then I have to fit new glass panes - time to research this on google I think!
