Front doors refitted

A few weeks ago we took the front doors off and sent them away to be cleaned. We also removed the metal decorative inserts and had them sand blasted and then resprayed. Today we put them all back together. Sadly these doors did not come up as nicely as the smaller oak door in the square tower, I think they are much more weather worn and the small panels may need replacing to improve them visually. They look

good though and its nice to see them back in place. You can see the difference when comparing them with the panels above. I just have to fit the glass framed coverings to each door and also the bronze locks but this is waiting for the glazing to be finished. We have polished up the bronze handles and these will also be going back on  with new locks so once again we can secure the building!
