A nice haircut after corona

Apparently that the thing most people were struggling with during lockdown was getting a haircut or a trim. Seems it was the same for the chateau - the grass had grown so long it needed a bit more than a trim! It took a bit of doing with the trimmer and newly acquired ride on mower but finally things are starting to look a bit more respectable around here. Check out the before and after photo that I have put together. 

Before mowing in front of the chateau I had to collect up a lot of stones that were lying around on the grass or sticking up through it. One particular spot was worse than anywhere else - in front of the single door. This door actually used to be a window which can be seen when talking a closer

look at the stone door surround. It seems that when this window was made into a door, probably some time in the 1800's, they just left most of the rubble where it fell and covered it over. Seems builders never change! In the pics you can see about half of what I dug out.
