Another day another floor

Today it was more digging up old floors. The the middle wing where we are working now it is a mixture of 18th century tiles which we are managing to take up with very few being damaged. The later early 20th century tiles which are ugly to say the least are being smashed to little pieces as they are so hard. 

This is actually useful as we will use them for the hardcore

when we put in a new drive to the chateau from the main road.  We also made small exploratory holes in the last two rooms to see if there were any more older floors lurking below. Result of the test pits was - negative! One more day and the floors should be up so the heavy duty jack hammer can go back to the hire company. It is hard work so the boys deserve their wine!!
