Hardest job

The hardest and the longest job we have at the chateau is getting the grounds back under control. Nature is a powerful opponent! Years of neglect have created this problem but it has been added to by the corona pandemic. I was back here later than planned and the grass has become very long. Too long to cut with a normal mower. I have returned from the UK with some great kit to cut this long grass. Also our neighbour and previous owner M.Chaussebourg has kindly offered to cut the large gardens with his tractor and cutter. As you can see we are starting to get our front garden back. We are also hopeful that a local farmer will come and collect up all of the cut hay on Friday. He is not so reliable and we may have to find a plan B.... watch this space.
