The Fields

The chateau has a lot of land that surrounds it. There is also a very old wall that apart from where it encloses the forrest is in pretty good shape. However over the years this wall has become more and more overgrown. In some places there are weeds, brambles and small trees growing up to 10 metres out from the wall. So today I met with a local farmer who is going to clear all of this overgrowth away. He will also take out the old stumps that are still around the lake. He will also do some work on the bank of the lake as well as level it. I am really looking forward to seeing this work

completed as it will instantly transform some very nice areas of the chateau. Just walking around the boundary of the chateau it is amazing to see all the old and different trees that we have. Right in the corner to the north of the old gate stands a very old and very large oak tree - it will be an amazing place for picnics just sitting under its branches.
