Working in the park

The park in front of the chateau is now really starting to look the part. We have spent a month fighting the grass which we are now on top of. So this week we have been tidying up around the trees. Everywhere we look in the chateau we find neglect and it is no different in the 

gardens. There are some beautiful, amazing trees in the gardens around the chateau and many are being strangled by ivy, self propagation and weeds. We are working our way around to clear the tress from these problems. We are cutting down the overgrowth and smaller trees that have grown up around the established ones. Then strimming all around to really remove everything before finally pulling the ivy off the trunks.

We are really making a difference but are generating so much green waste. We are backwards and forwards to the recycling yard and also increasing our already large store of logs. I think it  is worth it and if you check out the photos I am sure that you will agree.
