So the question today is what have we found. Eduardo has been digging out the earth floors for the last month and today in the rubble layer under a 1700's floor he found a few old clay tiles. One of them however is very strange. There were a few rude suggestions as to what it could be but the best we can come up with is that it was a wall tile with a built in coat hook?! If it was a floor tile then god knows what purpose it served!

Also whilst digging out a corridor we made another little discovery. The corridor was originally not a corridor at all as it used to be outside the chateau. When the middle wing was extended in the 1700's the corridor was created. Looks like there was a drainage hole / pipe that came out of the original outside wall. This is quite handy as we need to bring drainage from a kitchen out through that wall - what luck!!
