Cleaning and repairing

As we continue to remove the old plaster from the stone walls and bring them back to their beautiful, original state we find many places where we have to make repairs. In the photo you can see that in the past this wall has been hacked around. There are some water pipes and electric cables that have been put in. There are also cracks that have been caused by movement in the building over time. We will repair all of these cracks and holes. There are previous repair jobs have been nothing more than bodges such as the large grey concrete patch you can see. We will replace the damaged and bodged areas with replacement stonework. Then finally we will repoint these walls. This room is going to be an en-suite bathroom in our flagship suite. Mostly the old stone walls will be visible, there will of course have to be some new plaster and tiling but it will all be in keeping with the style and period of the room.
