Lake facelift

The small lake that we have at the chateau could be one of the nicest areas that we have. Sadly years of neglect left it very overgrown. Since we bought the chateau we have gradually been clearing all around it. However because the banks and surrounding area have been so neglected all that we have been doing is really just stopping it getting any worse. This week I am excited that one of our farmer friends is coming to really sort it out. He has some

great toys too! He will use his big digger to clear all of the remaining overgrown areas and take out all of the roots and old stumps. Then he will re landscape and level all around the lake. he will strengthen the banks and then secure them with large rocks. Today he started work and the

difference was immediate and incredible. What that machine can do in seconds takes us days by hand! As well as landscaping around the lake he will also level the grass road that runs from the chateau to the old gate next to the lake. This is in very poor condition and also extremely uneven. It will all be levelled off to flow into the field beside it. Then this whole area will be reseeded at the end of the month.
