Salle de bains

This week Michelle is clearing off the old render and plaster from the walls of what will become our bathroom. It is quite a messy and dusty job as you can see. This room is amazing, it is the highest room in one of the towers but the tower itself goes another 10 metres up from what will be the ceiling. At the moment we have ripped out the old boards and plaster to reveal the beautiful spoked beams that will form the ceiling. 

You can look up through these to two further 

levels of spoked beams. Amazing, like being in a church. Originally the idea was to plaster between these beams but this would lose the view up inside the tower. We can not leave them open as dust and dirt will forever be coming down. However it may be possible to put glass above these beams and light the conical inside of the tower! More thought needed for that one I think.
