Starting to rebuild

We have spent months ripping the chateau apart, digging out earthen floors and removing old plasterwork. Finally this week we have actually started to put something back together! Mark, our carpenter has been here to put in two new floors. Both rooms will be bathrooms so we have been raising the floors a bit to give enough space for all of the plumbing. I hadn't realised that it would be such a great feeling to finally see something going back in. it really starts to feel that we are getting somewhere now.

The smaller bathroom still has the old oak beams where the ceiling used to be. We will be cutting these out and removing them tomorrow. We have also fitted joists for a new higher ceiling. standing in the room now you can really start to get a feel for how it will be.
