As one door closes......

As one door closes so another opens as the saying goes. Here at the chateau that is definitely true. This week we closed off the small door at the top of the front stairs. Next year that whole of this landing will  be re-plastered and you will never know that the door was ever there. It led to a very narrow corridor that is becoming a utility area. 

Then we have made an opening for a door into what is going to be a shower room for the regency suite. We are closing off the original door into this room as it leads into that small corridor. Soon Mark our carpenter will make the door new door frame. We have a nice old door recovered from elsewhere in the chateau to complete the job.
