Clearing the stones

After having a much needed 4 days off we all came back to the chateau yesterday. We are just about ready to seed the fields with the new grass. Sebastian has been raking the fields and today he lent me a large tractor so that we could collect all the big rocks and stones from the fields. The terrain in this area consists of earth and some sort of white stone. Everywhere you dig you find them and not surprisingly most buildings are made from them. So this morning eight of us spent three hours going around and picking up the larger stones that are scattered around the fields. It was great to have the tractor as without it we would have had a much harder job. We literally picked up tons of these stones! We have piles of the stones everywhere now as we are also taking them out of the earth that we remove from the floors inside the chateau. This is actually very good as the wall that surrounds the chateau land needs repairing in a lot of places so we will need these stones.
