Sowing the Grass

With the weather due to change over the weekend it was full steam ahead with getting the grass sown. Sebastién has been raking the fields this week so this morning I drove to Tours to collect 600 kg of top quality parkland grass. Then after lunch Sebastién arrived with his spreader attached to the back of a quad bike. From 2pm until after 8pm he was covering the 5 hectare field, also seeding around the lake and by the drainage ditches. Finally as the sun was setting the field had a final roll and it was the end of a long day.

During the night I woke up to the sound of a torrential downpour. The rain has come exactly when we wanted it and our timing has been spot on. Amazing to think that in just a few weeks the fields will be covered with green grass
