Down pipes

This week I have started replacing the down pipes from the guttering in the courtyard area. Last year I replaced them on the other walls of the chateau. The main problem has been that they have not been looked after. The gutters have never been cleaned out and have filled up with rotting leaves. These leaves then find their way into the down pipes and block them up. Eventually they then burst open with the weight and compression.
