The old boiler

The chateau has two boilers that were used for heating and for hot water. One was oil fired and the other wood fired. We have been trying to dismantle the wood burning one. We managed to get the main outer structure off very easily but were then left with the water tank sitting above the fire chamber where the wood was burnt. We managed to cut off the tank only to find it was crazy heavy.

We could only topple it onto the floor. We could not lift it outside so had no option other than to cut it up. It took Oscar two days and quite a few cutting discs before it was finally possible to man handle it outside. The actual fire chamber where the wood was burnt is still in situ. I have no idea how to dismantle it let alone remove it. I think in the spring we will need some specialist help!
