The storm

This week there was quite a storm in the area around the chateau. Sadly a little bit of damage was caused to the chateau. One of the very old and beautiful finials on the roof was blown off and broke when it hit the ground. You can see where it was in this first picture. It sat right on the point of the roof ridge of the main hall of the old chateau. 

It must have broken into pieces as it was blown off as we have found bits of it lying on the ground on different sides of the chateau. Hopefully we can repair it and return it to where it should be. My guess is that it is about 300 years old.
