Finishing the keystone repair

Mark came over the today and the first job was to put up some scaffolding. Then we used a couple of car jacks underneath the acro props to raise the keystone into place. Once it was correctly lined up Mark hammered in a couple of oak wedges. These hold it in place while we repoint it with lime mortar.  Now the keystone was back where it should be we could rebuild the stone wall above it. All in all a very good job I think. Once the mortar dries we will finish the job by repairing the broken blocks in the arch - then it will be as good as new.
