Clearing the brambles

Igor and Juliana cleared the area behind the 3rd barn in 2019. But, it grew like crazy again in the early spring last year when I was stuck in Austria because of Covid! So it was time to get rid of it once and for all. I now have a great Stihl brush cutter and this makes such light work of it.  The brush cutter cuts it into small enough bits to then sweep up and burn. A final going over with the wheeled strimmer (another great bit of kit) and then it is all gone. 

I also cut back one of the fig trees that was totally out of control. There were also several stacks of old bricks that have now been piled together ready to go the the recycling. A very long cast iron ladder was also buried in the undergrowth, I guess it must have been a fire escape ladder from one of the towers at some point!
