That was hard work

Two days spent on the digger removing all of the old tree stumps from around the windmill. The smaller ones come out easy but the big ones are a real battle. You have to dig all around each one and get down deep to find all the hidden roots. Only when you have done that will you be able to pull the stump out. It was a challenge learning to use the digger but at the same time good fun. Finally they are all out and the holes filed in. It was great to have a nice fire and watch all of those weeds, ivy roots and tree roots go up in smoke. Now I have to figure out how to get rid of the stumps, the recycling centre will take the smaller ones I am sure, don't know about the big ones.

All that remains to be done now is to try and level the area and make it look nice. I guess the only option is to plant some grass to stop the weeds from coming back. At some point later in the year I have to dig a trench through here for the electric and water supplies.
