Stump grinding

Today it was a Moat Day! As well as doing my monthly strim along the edge of the moat I decided to grind away a few of the big tree stumps. Getting rid of these will allow me to cut more with the ride on mower - so another way to save time! 

The stump grinder has been such a great bit of kit. It is quite easy to use and removing old tree stumps is something that we have to do in many places around the chateau. A couple of the stumps today were quite old and very tough, the wood must have hardened a lot of the years. 

Managed to grind about 6 today, there are at least another 6 to do another time. I think that the results speak for themselves. Eventually there will be a new wall enclosing the moat and allowing us to store water for the garden.
