Buried treasure

Rob came over today to look at the stonework he will start pointing next week and to tell me how much sand to and lime to order. We also took the opportunity to do some more metal detecting in the hope of finding the elusive buried treasure that must be here!! As usual we found a lot of scrap metal and other assorted rubbish. Quite a few coins, the oldest being from the 1860's. There were quite a few mid 20th century coins all in one place so it looks like they must have fallen out of somebodies pocket when they were lying on the lawn. I also found a very nice little finger ring. It was buried quite deep down so is most likely quite old. I really have no exact idea of its age however the design leads me to think that it is medieval. Pretty little thing.
