Moving fast

There are three of us working this week so things are moving on at a pace. Rob has started work cleaning out the old stone work ready for pointing. Oscar and I are removing render and trying to stay ahead of Rob. By the end of the day we had nearly cleared 3 of the cottage walls and tomorrow Rob will start the pointing.

In the above image you can see the original roofline of the cottage. It was originally built with a much shallower pitch. The current roof was most likely added in the early 1700's when big changes were being made to the chateau. I suspect that the cottage is very old, dating back to  at least the 1500's.
